ELEVATE Northeast’s first multi-week educational program starts September 26 at the Boston Center for Adult Education
Entrepreneurs and others looking to own or lead a business in the Massachusetts cannabis industry now have a school to turn to for learning crucial legal, financial and operational best practices from experienced faculty. ELEVATE Northeast’s first five-week Cannabis Business Educational Program kicks off on Wednesday, September 26 at the Boston Center for Adult Education.
Program faculty, including Burns & Levinson attorney Scott Moskol, Vicente Sederberg attorney and Massachusetts Cannabis Advisory Board member Kim Napoli, Mass Canna Compliance founder Charles Smith, and Fremont College instructor and ELEVATE cofounder Cara Crabb Burnham have more than 25 years of combined experience building the cannabis industry in Massachusetts and across the US. Additionally, an all-star panel of successful cannabis business owners hailing from Boston to Denver to Oakland will come together during the final class for an interactive discussion with students.
“This program was created to meet the local industry’s growing need for clarity and skillful guidance to help cannabis business leaders navigate local restrictions, understand and master the application process, and prepare for federal complications with banking and taxation,” said Cara Crabb Burnham, Director of Education at ELEVATE Northeast. “I couldn’t be more proud or excited for ELEVATE to bring this inclusive platform for learning, collaboration and success to Boston.”
Throughout the 5-week program, students will be provided with lesson guides, interactive presentations, supplemental reading lists and an expanded network of peers and influencers. The program is designed to position students for greater success as they plan their business, whether it involves applying for licensure with the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission or creating an ancillary business to support what is expected to be an $1.8 billion industry in the Commonwealth alone.
Approved Economic Empowerment applicants are encouraged to inquire about several scholarships available to attend the 5-week program at no charge. Contact firstname.lastname@example.org with your EE number to apply before September 14, 2018.
